Urban Kitchen provides an inclusive, fun and social team building exercise. Our passion for food is infectious and our professional chefs ensure teams are working together and having a great time. Our classes include a stand-up or sit-down meal so you don’t have to organise a meal as well as an experience and we make booking simple.

Our kitchen studio is a licensed venue, we offer beverage on consumption or party packages, you pick the drinks you like and we’ll have everything on ice when your team arrives.

We run our cooking classes for groups of 5-140 in our North Melbourne venue.

We recommend comfortable clothing and closed toed shoes. It’s a great idea to tie your hair back if it’s long too. We’ll have aprons for the whole team on site and chef’s hats for team head chefs!

Don’t bring anything, we’ve got it covered. Our studio kitchen is fully equipped with cooking stations and all the equipment required to cook your delicious dishes. Ingredients will be ready for each team and we also provide aprons for all guests. All you have to do is turn up ready to cook!

The best thing about our classes is no one ever leaves hungry! Unlike other team building exercises where you then have to organise going out for dinner, our classes include team cooking and dinner and drinks post event. We can organise grazing boards or canapes for your arrival so there’s no rumbling tummies during your cooking class, then the whole team gets to enjoy the restaurant quality food you’ve cooked together.

Getting the best out of your team cooking event means ensuring active participation from your whole team. We’re great at catering for dietaries to make sure that everyone feels included. Many of our recipes can be easily amended to suit dietary requirements and we also have a collection of additional dietary recipes for those with trickier requirements. Our on site catering company, Bay Leaf Catering, can also provide dietary meals if the class recipes cannot accommodate a particular dietary request.

Urban Kitchen is hosted in a warehouse in North Melbourne, we have an onsite café and a caterer for all your conferencing needs. With lounge areas and breakaway tables as well as AV on site we offer a fabulous point of difference for your next team working day.

Say no more to awkward Christmas parties! Get the whole team involved in cooking a delicious meal and sitting down to enjoy it together. Our professional chefs will ensure your meal is restaurant quality and our staff will keep the beers on ice. Add in some parlour games for after and enjoy a few drinks while laughing about your team’s new chef skills.

Our classes are for everyone and run for groups of 5-8 people per group. Great for birthdays, hens nights and just having a great time with friends. We’ll make sure you’re cooking restaurant quality food like the professionals.

Absolutely! We offer a range of cooking classes, experiences and add-ons so no two classes are ever the same.

We regularly have teams recommend us to other departments and before we know it we’ve met the whole company. We offer team cooking for up to 200 people and amazing races at various foodie spots around Melbourne.

We promise you’ll love what you cook so much you’ll want to show it off at home. We can easily organise to email you copies of the recipes post event.

Our address is 64 Sutton St North Melbourne, Urban Kitchen is located in the industrial quarter of North Melbourne only minutes from the CBD.

There is ample street parking outside the venue

By train: Catch the Upfield line to Macaulay Station, two stops from Southern Cross and we’re an 8 minute walk away
