Kitchen Hire FAQ

There is a 4 hour minimum to book the kitchen.

Email info@theurbankitchen.com.au or call 03 9690 5831 confirming what day and length of time you require the kitchen. We will confirm your booking via email. If you require extra time to use the kitchen you must contact us immediately to check availability.

We require 48 hours’ notice to change or cancel your booking. Full payment is required if your booking is cancelled in this time period.

Our kitchen is available 24 hours a day 7 days a week.

We require a $500 deposit bond, which is required to be paid in advance. Additional bond amount is required depending on the length of your rental. To ensure the bond is not deducted you are required to clean the kitchen with no damages or equipment theft.

If you are selling to the public you will be required to register your own food license with the City of Port Phillip: www.portphillip.vic.gov.au

Deliveries can be made 24/7. But you must be onsite to accept delivery of your goods.

  • We provide basic pots and pans, chopping boards, mixing bowls.
  • Chemicals for dishwasher and floor including mops and buckets.
  • Rubbish bins and outside rubbish disposal area.
  • Oil removal for deep fryer
  • Limited onsite parking

You need to provide any electrical appliances such as mixers and blenders. You must provide your own tea towels, hand towels, sanitizer, bin liners, knives and fire lighter for stove top and oven.

You also need to provide your own first aid kit. We will provide you with a license agreement that outlines what you need to bring along with our full terms and conditions. We will induct you into the building to ensure you know how to utilise the equipment and access the building.

As we are a shared facility we have limited storage onsite. For short term hire you can store your goods overnight. For long term hire you can store in the coolroom and dry store which is a shared area.
